Jersey City is the second most populous city of New Jersey after Newark with a population of 250,000. With an area of 21,080 square miles, it is the biggest city in the county. There are a lot of interesting things about Jersey City, but one interesting piece of trivia that reality TV enthusiasts might be interested to know is that Jersey City is filming the location of the spinoff of Snooki and JWoww, which is a spinoff of the Jersey Shore reality series. Well, enough about tv. Let’s talk a bit about potential English schools in Jersey City.

For non-native speakers who are interested in studying ESL for the purpose of improving their professional careers or for those who want to prepare for an English exam, there are a few schools that you can choose from. Depending on your preference, each school has their own methodology of teaching English, though some are definitely better than others. We’re obviously rather partial to our Union City location due to its amazing teachers and staff.

A great school in Jersey City will make use of a task based approach or PBL ( Project Based Learning) . This encourages interactions to make learning fun as well as hold feld trips to New York city to practice English.

Interested students can choose to enroll between the different types of classes based on their appropriate skill level. Each level has their own set of objectives.

For those who need to take the TOEFL exam, that course is also available in select locations.

Many school locations offer assistance on housing which can include meals if you prefer. They can also assist in getting your I-20 ( Certificate of Eligibility for non Immigrant , or F-1) forms.

If money is an issue, there are some free classes that are available for you to take. Although these are not nearly as comprehensive as the paid courses themselves, and should usually be used as more of a stepping stone to actual paid, structured English classes.

Whatever reason you have for wanting to start studying English, and whichever New Jersey school you choose to study ESL in, I am certain that you will find Jersey City an enjoyable place to spend some time in. And if you are craving a bit of excitement, New York city is just a bus or metro train ride away!
