Ridgefield Park is a charming little village located in the state of New Jersey with a population of about 13,000 ( based on the last 2013 census). Although small, this village boasts of one of the longest, continuous Fourth of July parades.

Ridgefield Park is not as cosmopolitan as the big cities, however there are a few advantages in choosing to study English in a small village. For one, there will be fewer distractions so you can focus more on studying English. Secondly, a smaller village means you get to interact with the people on a more personal level. If you want to supplement your classes by hiring a private tutor and having one on one instruction, there are a lot of certified ESL teachers in New Jersey who can help you out. There are a variety of sites that you can go to online that can help you decide on the perfect teacher for you. Classes can be held in the comfort of your own home, or if you prefer in a café of your choosing. Lessons can be tailored to your needs. Costs can vary and should be discussed between you and the instructor beforehand.

You can also supplement your English learning by talking to the people in the village. The English language is alive and is constantly evolving. While you learn all the grammar rules of formal English in the classroom, nothing is more effective in mastering the language than by using it. So, talk to the people in the village and interact with them, make friends, and before you know it you will be speaking English like a native speaker.
